Claremont Yacht Club is an excellent environment to discover the joys of sailing. Whether through our competitive racing fleets each weekend, or in a more relaxed style on our Twilight Cruises every Wednesday night through summer.

If you have never sailed before that’s not a problem, we open our doors to all levels of experience and welcome anybody who is keen to ‘give it a go’.

Keelboat owners and Skippers are always on the lookout for new crew to help them race their yachts. If you’re seeking the fun and rewards that being part of a team can bring, you are welcome to register your interest as a crew person. Simply contact the office or just come on down to the Club and give it a try. You will then be allocated to a skipper who is looking for a new crew. If you like it and want to be part of the Club, you can then join the Club as a crew member for an annual Associate Crew Membership. Click here for more information.

Weekend racing commences at 14:00 most Saturdays during the Sailing Season (October to April). One weekend a month, weekend racing is held on Sunday afternoon. Races generally last for 2-3 hours, after racing it’s back to the Clubhouse for presentations.

Please note that if you wish to come down and find a place as crew on a boat on a weekend, please arrive between 12:30 and 13:00 to get a boat allocation in time before the race.

Our Twilight Cruises start at 18:25 each Wednesday evening from mid-November to April.
If you would like to try Twilight Sailing, please arrive at the Marina gate by 18:00 and we will do our best to allocate you on a boat.

We continue our racing calendar throughout the year including a very competitive but social winter Frostbite racing program through the months of May to September. Indeed, there is never a month where there is no sailing at Claremont Yacht Club!

We encourage family and junior involvement at the Claremont Yacht Club. Hence, we have membership options to cater for families interested in our Dinghy fleet.
