WHAT CATEGORY OF MEMBERSHIP DO YOU WANT?

Before you complete an application for membership at Claremont Yacht Club, please take some time to read this document and ensure you are you are applying for the correct category of membership and can commit to the obligations to which you agree as a Club Member.

The Club is an association of individuals who share a common interest in boating, whether they are boat owners or not. They find that the Club provides them with opportunities to enjoy that common interest both on and off the water.  It therefore follows that the Club is interested in preserving the sharing of that common interest amongst its Members. In particular, the Club does not provide boating accommodation to individuals who are only seeking a place to keep their boat. If you don’t have an interest in boating or do not wish to join in Club activities then you should not complete an application for membership.

The personal information provided by you in your Application for Membership will be used to assess and process your Membership Application. You are not obliged to add those details which you do not wish to disclose, but this may mean that your nomination is delayed or, possibly, rejected. Application for all categories of senior membership are required to be posted on the members’ noticeboard for scrutiny by the Members for 14 days prior to formal acceptance. If you don’t wish that to occur, you should not complete an application.

All applications for membership need to be supported by a proposer and a seconder who are current Senior Members of the Club.

The Club protects the privacy of the information collected from Members.  The Club’s privacy policy can be viewed under “Club Info”. The Club takes reasonable steps to ensure that personal information held by the Club is protected against misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure.
